Today Kim didn’t have to work, so she and Corita spent the morning shopping for some things we needed. Meanwhile, David and Joel tried out the tandem bike Geron and Clara use to get to their school.
Then we tried to do some online work but were frustrated in our attempts. We finally got our stuff and some of Kim and Geron’s camping things packed up and left. Unfortunately, we neglected to get a photo of Kim and Corita together!!

After a scenic five-hour drive north, we made it to the cabin Kim and Geron own in Westcliffe, Colorado. We were honored to be their first houseguests in their Santa Fe home (in which they have lived for 10 years!) as well as their first cabin-guests in Westcliffe.
Soon after we got to the cabin, Corita announced that she was heading down to the outhouse, which prompted a gleeful response from Joel, “There’s an outhouse! There’s an outhouse!” When he discovered what it was, we all had a good laugh. This was the first evening we got to use our warm clothes, due to the refreshingly cool mountain weather. Their cabin has a spectacular view of the entire Sangre de Cristo mountain range, which we were able to enjoy through a colorful sunset, by the light of the full moon, and in the sunrise. Raquel took some amazing sunset pictures so it was hard to chose which one to use.
Thanks so much, Kim, Geron, and Clara, for your hospitality and the use of your cozy cabin. We would love to come back when it’s snowy here! It must be absolutely marvelous.
